Edison High School Attendance Office

September 15, 2017

We have an Edison High School Attendance Office this year. It is located in Room A128, straight down the main hallway.

A couple of important items:

  • All student check ins and check outs will be through the Attendance Office, no longer in the Subschools.
  • When you need to pick up your student early, please send a note in with them in the morning so that we can have them ready for you when you arrive. If you forget, please give us at least one hour notice as there are times during the day that it is more difficult to get students, such as lunch time.

School begins promptly at 8:10. If your student is dropped off at 8:10, this means your student is late and is subject to receiving a tardy pass at the Kiss and Ride. It is important for students to be in class on time, and we conduct tardy sweeps throughout the school year, resulting in students receiving detention. These sweeps are done both physically in the hall, and electronically through SIS reports.

Lastly, but certainly important, your students attendance at school is important. While we recognize illnesses and appointments students must attend, it is the expectation that they will attend class and take advantage of their education. Please try to schedule appointments after school hours when possible. When your student must be out of school, please be sure to call the attendance line (703-924-8080) or send an e-mail to the attendance office at EdisonAttendance@fcps.edu from your e-mail of record.

Please feel free to contact Ms. Nancy Dolan, Dean of Students, if you have Attendance Concerns. She can be reached at nrdolan@fcps.edu or 703-924-8031.

Thank you for your cooperation.
